Rockway Vineyard Journalistic Wedding Photography by Frances Morency Photography Venue: Rockway Vineyards Getting Ready: Holiday Inn & Suites Hair/ Makeup: Barbara Saric – Dollface Makeup and hair Flowers: Shelley Scott from Wine Country Floral The flowers were so lovely and the dress stunning that I decided to combine the two and create an image showing her details as this was a small room with limited space. I often use the television as a reflection to give me more space in tight quarters. During bridal portraits if the bride is giving me everything I need I try and take a few minutes to do a couple creative images like this one. Photographing makeup and getting ready is all about hiding everything in the room and isolating your subject which is not the easiest to do. This makeup artist was wearing a very bright colour and I knew I wouldn’t be able to include her in the photos, so I got creative with doors. A great way to hide things like fire extinguishers and exit plan posters on back of doors or suitcases on the floor is to get down and shoot up at an uncluttered ceiling. They were determined not to cry, but the emotions are pretty high on your daughters wedding day. I need and request 5 min. alone with every bride so that I can give her a proper bridal portrait with beautiful window light. This veil was long and beautiful and was going to be dramatic on this windy stormy day. The First Look session perfect with the bride coming down a staircase. The bridal party were so great and easy to work with thank you guys! Rockway Vineyards had a ton of opportunity for photography all within a few feet from the venue.. Adorable little bridge overlooking a fountain and golf course. The winery as a backdrop on one side and the sky as a backdrop on the other is so perfect. The bride’s bouquet and all the flowers at this wedding were spectacular and really added a touch of class to this wedding. The bride painted all the artwork on the tables except for one and it was the guests who had to figure out which one what painted by the groom. The retro mini cooper as the bride and grooms wedding car was perfectly waiting for them at the entrance to the vineyard. With this sky I could have photographed them all day.
