Photojournalism is journalism that uses images to tell a news story. It usually only refers to still images, but can also refer to video used in broadcast journalism. Photojournalism is distinguished from other close branches of photography (such as documentary photography, social documentary photography, war photography, street photography and celebrity photography) by having a rigid ethical framework which demands an honest but impartial approach that tells a story in strictly journalistic terms. Photojournalists contribute to the news media, and help communities connect with one other. They must be well-informed and knowledgeable, and are able to deliver news in a creative manner that is both informative and entertaining.
Similar to a writer, a photojournalist is a reporter, but they must often make decisions instantly and carry photographic equipment, often while exposed to significant obstacles, among them immediate physical danger, bad weather, large crowds, and limited physical access to their subjects.
As a wedding photographer, it's my job to document your wedding day. Photojournalism, journalistic, documentary or street photography are all ways to describe what i do on your wedding day. I'm there to photograph moments and although i'm not completely unobtrusive, I do try to limit my interaction when I'm in the room. If I can sense that you need direction or encouragement then i'm able to deliver that style as well. Ideally, i'll place you in the best possible light and let the magic happen.

Everyone says they are a candid photographer these days, but be careful. Yes, they may capture naturally candid moments such as your ceremony and speeches, but do they know how to create candid portraits without you knowing they are photographing you?

A true candid photographer knows when someone is going to cry, laugh, high five or hug before the couple does and captures those moments.

A true candid photographer will know which images to choose over others to not reject images because of imperfections but rather deliver with intent to showcase the moment documented.
Recently, blurry images have become art but a true candid photographer chooses images shot because of the moment or the feeling in the image and if it's blurry but the moment is there it will get delivered to clients.
