We could not have asked for a better day. Bridal preparations started first thing in the morning followed by groom preparations.
I then organized a first look session for them followed by bridal party photos and a dad's first look session.
We followed that with bride and groom photos around the property and finished just in time to go the rooftop for their sunset ceremony.
With just a few clouds in the sky, the sun was setting perfectly behind them as they said their vows.
Afterwards, we had just enough dusk light for family photos and a mini portrait session at dusk before heading to the open air reception.
We started the day during golden hour with portraits of the bride and groom during preparations.
I photographed all the details to start with at the end of the hallway where we had this incredible view to showcase with the dress and the shoes.
Once the bride was ready we walked to that same location at the end of the hallway for their "first look" Since they were having a sunset ceremony and needed all their photos done before hand we needed to photograph them seeing each other for the first time at a location on the resort. I again chose the hallway with it's beautiful views and subtle light at this time of day. I photographed the bride the entire time she walked to her grooms location and asked her to look out the window when she walked by.
The resort was epic and the backdrops were endless at this Costa Rica resort. Everything was white and unique. There were lots of locations that were private and away from resort guests.
We spent an hour together just walking around and taking photos before the ceremony.
Once we arrived back at the rooms we gathered the wedding party and headed towards the rooftop ceremony location.
The Riu Palace in Costa Rica has this rooftop ceremony location that all brides should definitely consider for their wedding days. The walk to the alter was long and the anticipation on the couples face grew and grew with every step. Again, the backdrop and the light were the best i've seen at destination wedding in a long time.
